The ancient sages mention, "The gate to heaven and its infinite wisdom treasure is through the river of breath flowing through the eyebrows". This is the opening of the 'third eye".
Breath in yogic terms is visualized as a river. The yogi draws his consciousness through his eyebrows, inhaling and exhaling visualizing his breath through this sacred spot. With each elongated yogic breath through the eyebrows, consciousness now becomes single pointed with the river of breath flowing through the 'wisdom gate'.
