Who are the Siddhars? The Siddhars are enlightened beings who journey beyond enlightenment. "Siddhi" means, powers of perfection, ie, miracles. "Siddhars" are the perfected beings. The Tamil Siddhar Sages broke away from organized religion and social dogma. They lived by experience of the divine, throwing away belief systems. Like in most religions there are the deeper end facets to it, like the Kabbalah of Judaism or Sufism of Islam, the path of the Siddhars is the deeper end of Hinduism. The Siddhars worship the Divine as in its Universal form and formlessness and in most cases, as the flame of a lamp. What do Siddhars have to do with yoga? When awakened, the Soul feels like an elephant in a hut like body. In most instances, the awakened persons consider the body a baggage or shirt to carry along and wear. The Siddhar Sages however realize that human life has a divine purpose- the purpose to evolve. They consider the body a shrine to the Divinity within. Utilizing the ancient yogic science, they developed the yoga practice to enable transcend body limitations. The diluted versions of their yoga practice has been absorbed by the mainstream India. It can be said that the Siddhar Sages are the source of yoga science.
Do you teach? Yes. Turiya Yoga is a deep and intense yogic practice. Our classes together are more defined as 'satsangs'- divine gathering. What is your your background? Where are you from? What is your yoga experience? What brought you to the West?
What is Turiya Yoga- If hatha yoga is for example, a computer, Turiya yoga is the software within it. Turiya yoga is the pure form of yogic practice of the Sages who transcend the body to be Spirit.
What does "Turiya" mean? Turiya is the state of higher consciousness that the sages are in .It is a state beyond sleep, being awake and dreaming. It is called the 'sleepless sleep' where the mind is connected to Source all the time. Within turiya are said to be 8 forms of turiya- each of these are states to evolve beyond enlightenment. Most of us unconsciously momentarily tap into the state of "turiya" when we pray and whatever is in our heart is fulfilled, as answered by the Divine. When a saint (of any religion or culture) blesses us, they are conveying from their inner higher states, the turiya, the powerful energies that is aligned with the Divine. The Siddhar sages mention of turiya as the mind is in Oneness with the Divine and therefore able to manifest, heal, guide, protect , sustain or destroy. How is Turiya Yoga different from other forms of yoga? There are two Indias. The India we know about and the India we do not know about. The India we know about is the traditional society that is caste based and in hierarchy where knowledge has been passed on for thousands of years. Most yogic traditions in the West are from this India. There is the other India which we just do not know much about and it is the traditions of the Siddhars. The Siddhars are sages who after attaining enlightenment understand the body as a temple and a journey that is beyond enlightenment. Through thousands of years of this secretive wisdom and utilizing their wisdom from Source, they practiced an empowering form of yoga. Through yogic techniques they could take the body beyond hunger, heat and cold and other limitations. Turiya Yoga utilizes many in-depth 'knowing' of this ancient lineage that transforms the body and mind and enables the yogi to bring the divine energies of perfection into the human realms of daily life.
Are you a Guru?
A big question!
In the West, folks love the package and not really the content within. Prefer to stay away from this circus! Our Guru Ayya actually throws stones at people to deter those who are not ready yet for the immense awakened energies and yet filters those who are spiritually mature- who go beyond judging. Have you seen a picture of Prophet Mohammed anywhere? The Siddhars are absorbed into Source and without a 'history' to the point of no even having proper names When our Guru Siddhar Rajaswamy named 'me' Tapasyogi Adiyen Nandhinatha, it is much an honor as it is huge responsibility to grow into this name. Prefer to remain on an ego free journey. The shade away from ego helps. Nandhi is just a guide. Beings like Siddhar Guru Ayya, Siddhar Rajaswamy, Saddhu Krishnaveni Amma, Siddhar Maha Siva Swamy, Siddhargurunathar Natraj Baba, Mata Amritandamayi (Ammachi) and others are stellar examples of Masters. They are the Gurus. They teach that each one of us are Gurus when we bend our head in humility and be the vessel of Spirit

Siddhars" is the Guru

What is your religion? Actually the best definition of our yoga spirituality is Sanathana Dharma- The Eternal Truth that is from deep silence within. As Swami Vivekananda said "Each soul is potentially divine. The goal is to manifest this divinity within, by controlling nature, external and internal. Do this either by work, or worship, or psychic control, or philosophy - by one, or more, or all of these - and be free. This is the whole of religion. Doctrines, or dogmas, or rituals, or books, or temples, or forms, are but secondary details" The essence of being aligned with Source is to be "spiritual" rather than "religious"! My religion is Ancient Oneness.
