"As I clung to God that is Transcendental Light;
The Transcendental Light in me entered and remained;
And as I sank and sank into the Transcendental Light;
I beheld the Transcendental Light,
Himself aloud proclaiming"
- Siddhar Thirumulanathar
"When the Meru Peak of the Sahasrara
Bindu and Nada flourish
In thier union will samadhi be
And the Light Resplendent of endless wisdom
Will then visioned be"
-Siddhar Thirumulanathar
Thiruvannamalai is one of the ancient spiritual center of South India. The sacred mountain called by the sages, the pillar of fire. Over the
last thousands of years, multitude of seekers attained enlightenment and
to this day, there are many enlightened Beings living in the caves and huts around this sacred mountain. It is said that who ever prayed
deeply for the vision of God is granted that fortunate sight here as the sacred mountain reveals as God in the form of Light and Fire.
Nandhi was summoned above this sacred mountain by his guru, Ayya, who
meditates in His cave. Nandhi prayed that he would be granted the divine vision of seeing God. Later in the evening, after descending the sacred
mountain, while Nandhi was meditating at the front of the mountain along with three others, the Mountain transformed into a glowing divine
glory beyond any words of beauty, magnificence, splendor, enchantment words can hope to express! Since that day, this propelling energy behind
Nandhi's vision seeks to constantly recreate that extreme splendor, magnificence and beauty he was blessed to witness.
This painting of Thiruvannamalai is a feeble attempt to capture such an immense experience of
the two eyes that the third eye when aware is the witness as pure bliss!
