We are
a package of the five elements- ether, air, fire, water
and earth. The Siddhar tradition holds the journey
beyond enlightenment as the flowing of gracing into the
five elements we are. These five elements also relate to
the five koshas, the sheaths we are.
Physical - Annamaya kosha- Earth element
Energy - Pranamaya kosha - Water/Fire element
Mental - Manamaya kosha - Fire/ Air element
Wisdom - Vijnanamaya kosha - Air/ Ether element
Bliss - Anandamaya kosha - Ether element
Self - Atman
A siddhar yogi transcends to at first attain a 'kal'
deham, a body that is like stone- able to wiothstand the
rigours of meditative penance- tapas. As the journey
with continues, grace flows downwards through the koshas
to reach the body- annamaya kosha. Siddhar Sages such as
Thirumulanathar, Bhoganathar and scores of others are
said to have attained the final objective of yoga- union
with Source, literally.
This explains why all the Siddhar Sages insist that the
highest dharma one can do is- to feed the hungry as to
enable divine grace to flow through the material
existence by way of dharma.
From the perspective of yogic experience, it is natural
to assume that we become that we envision and dwell in.
When we are in the intense vibration of joy, our mind at
first and gradually, our body to transcends to be in the
state of joy. The Siddhar Sages call this body the body
of love.
Siddhar Ramalingaswamy who attained becoming light
sings:
“ The Holy infinite Light full of Grace,
The Holy infinite Light full of Grace,
Most compassionate infinite Light,
Full of Grace;
Everything will be revealed to you,
I swear when you take your breath with all tattvas
In the name of the Almighty
To Chitrambalam ."
Chitrambalam is the the state of becoming ether- the
infinite space that holds all universes and yet is the
void. Becoming That is the journey of yoga!
